Joe Jordan has looked to defuse the media frenzy surrounding his brawl with Milan’s Gennaro Gattuso claiming the pair were merely doing a historic, Celtic bar greeting, shared by thousands of Scottish drinkers everywhere. Jordan insisted he’d initiated the friendly gesture by drunkenly calling Gattuso’s mother a ‘wee hotty’ but was forced to interrupt the ritual when he couldn’t find a chair to throw.
