Pearce in race row that doesn’t exist

England caretaker manager is embroiled in a race row that doesn’t exist after outrage was started by absolutely nobody. Tabloids hit on the fact that in 1994 Pearce failed to hold a door open for Paul Ince, a move he claims was completely accidental but what media outlets are describing as ‘totally f***ing racist’.

Pearce told the FA.com ‘a lot of stuff happened in 1994 that we shouldn’t be proud of, including the concept that putting a bowl around your head and cutting any visible hairs was ever a good idea. But I can guarantee that 1994 was 18 years ago, so it’s probably safe to put it to bed.’

A spokesman for the tabloid newspaper publishing the story said ‘now that Capello’s gone, we don’t have a lot else to write about. Wait till Sunday’s story breaks, it’s a real cracker. Graham Taylor, apparently, hates the colour orange. You heard it here first.’
